Sable Alley

Lodge style Lagoon side paradise

Afro-chic tented camp

Sable Alley is located in northern Botswana’s Khwai Private Reserve bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Overlooking a peaceful lagoon, the property is a classic tented camp carefully built to minimise its impact on the environment. Elevated on raised decking, ten double or twin and two family tents are light and airy with mesh windows, in- and outdoor showers, and have private verandahs from you can appreciate the lagoon and floodplain vistas. Open-plan central spaces include a lounge and dining area and extend out to a plunge pool.

Sable Alley Camp is a very spacious camp, it is sophisticated and really quite stylish. Each canvas-walled suite is a massive 55 square meters in size, and comes complete with mini-indoor seating area, a writing desk, comfortable double bed, and some seriously Afro-chic décor. Just slide open the screen doors at the front and enjoy some uninterrupted views of the lagoon, or take a seat on the veranda for a closer inspection. At the back, you will find two basins, and indoor shower and a flush loo. And if you fancy washing off the dust from the day in the great Botswana outdoors, no problem – there’s an outdoor shower with a view too.

Activities at Sable Alley

Spend the day on game drives, walking safaris (guide dependent and to be pre-booked), boating and mokoro excursions (water levels permitting) in search of the wildlife which inhabit this region.

Tripadvisor comments Sable Alley

Beautiful camp. We were in the Honeymoon Tent, furthest down the boardwalk. A beautiful location with great views of the lagoon and animals. The main lodge has great seating for dining and watching the wildlife at the same time. Wide variety of food; excellent. The guides were very knowledgable and taught us a lot about the small details of the delta; water, geology, animals, and plants. They worked very hard to find us interesting animals and then we spent plenty of time just watching and photographing them.

Your in the bush, you stay in a tent, what sounds opulent about that? I can tell you - everything!! The positioning of each tent set to offer you a complete taste of living in the bush. Within, so much to offer with toilet, inside and outside shower, vanity basins one for each of you, comfortable beds and a veranda to relax post safari. Dining here offers a continental as well as partial cooked breakfasts, lovely lunches and all evening meals were superbly presented. One small spot gives you WiFi if that’s what you really need whilst being away in this idyllic setting. ... Our game drives were with Otian who had a wealth of knowledge and took on us REAL off road game drives!! Evening off by 4pm stop for a G&T at sundown, I can’t think of anything better. All staff were so polite nothing was too much trouble, even showing me how to make the women’s lovely headdresses!
